Heriz rug from Northwest Iran, handwoven during the second quarter of the 20th century.
This Heriz features an allover design of scrolling two tone leaves in a variety of color combinations such as black and white, black and pink, and blue and red on a madder red ground. All over designs are less common on Heriz rugs which most often feature large central medallions. The main border is composed of alternating rosettes and serrated leaves in a similar yet distinct fashion to those in the filed.
In excellent condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Low pile with a sturdy handle.
