This Gabbeh rug was handwoven at the end of the 20th century in southern Iran. There is a mix of contemporary design along with the traditional aspects of the Qashqai tribe, including the use of their own hand spun wool. Features a large yellow lion with a stunning geometric mane atop a periwinkle field. Pops of red can be found as a shadowing technique as well as at the end of the tail. A peach border with a repeating geometric bird figure make this piece stand out. In perfect condition.
