This Hamadan kelleghi was woven in Western Iran during the early twentieth century (1900-1925).
It features thick lustrous wool and a pulsating red field with an indigo central medallion and glowing blue/green cornices. It features an ivory border of alternating rosettes in round and more oval forms. Although it is constructed like a classic Hamadan, it is unusual as it features Farahan patterning.
In excellent condition, it features thick, meaty wool and has a heavy handle.
