This Malayer runner was handwoven during the second quarter of the 20th century in Western Iran.

This rug features an all-over field of shrub or shield-like motifs with a wonderful polychrome striation on a dark brown field. The whole rug is framed by an ivory main border of rosettes and diamonds and matching minor borders scrolling vines in full bloom. A versatile runner in a hard-to-come-by size. 

In very good condition with minimal wear and all four sides intact. Hard-wearing with a low pile and some heft to the handle.
