This Malayer rug was handwoven during the second quarter of the 20th century in Western Iran.
This stunning rug features a wonderful all-over flower-filled lattice field. The design is rendered in soft blues, red, coral, ivory, gold, and sea foam on a navy ground. It is framed by a wide border of scrolling vine work and big blossoming palmettes on an ivory ground. The ivory brightens the whole composition and softens nearby tones including a delicate lilac only present in the borders.
In very good condition, signs of wear consistent with age. The pile is low, with a hefty handle.
