This Sarouk rug was woven in Western Iran during the second quarter of the 20th century.

It features a classic Sarouk design of various floral sprays in various blues, greens, gold, and soft pink on a crimson ground. Some floral sprays come from branches in the ground whereas others originate in vases. The main border is a detailed scrolling palmette design in similar tones but on a deep navy ground.

In good condition, with some areas of wear. Some wear along the sides as pictured. Ends have been reinforced for longevity. The pile is low and very densely woven, with a stiff handle. Wool is soft and lustrous.
