This vintage Shahsavan bag face was handwoven in northwest Iran.
This tiny rug is composed of a colorful geometric design. Multicolored hooked diamond shapes are framed by a simple interlocking shapes in soumak weave. A narrow band of colorful polygons woven in pile separates the soumak from a kilim woven in wavy blocks of color.
In very good condition, signs of wear consistent with age. The weaving techniques, with a sturdy handle.
