This Farahan Sarouk rug was woven during the first quarter of the 20th century.
It features a central coral-toned medallion that floats above a repeat pattern of floral sprays on a navy ground. The floral sprays are well rendered in a lattice formation with cornices at all four corners. The main border is a detailed scrollingpalmettedesign with two minor borders of alternating rosettes.
In very good condition. The pile is low and very densely woven, with a stiff handle. Wool is soft and lustrous.
