This Tabriz was woven in northwest Iran during the middle of the 20th century.
The design features a navy central medallion with two teardrop medallions on a burnt orange field of crisp palmettes. The ivory cornices and minor borders brighten the composition and highlight the shape of the field while the navy border both balance the medallion and frames the composition well.
In good condition, signs of wear are consistent with age. Wear is mostly consistent throughout with some excess near the bottom (as pictured). Pile is very low, the handle is very sturdy.
