This antique Malayer runner was handwoven in Western Iran during the first quarter of the 20th century (1900-1925).
It features a bright cream field with an undulating red & blue central diamond pattern. The lively field is framed by the main border of alternating long-armed palmettes and what appear to be heavily stylized butterflies or dragonflies on a stunning indigo ground. The main border is flanked by bright cream minor borders with repeating "S" motifs.
In good condition with visible wear throughout (as pictured). Structurally sound with all four sides reinforced for longevity.
