This Mudjur prayer rug was handwoven in central Anatolia during the late 19th century.
It features a rich raspberrymihrab outlined in canary yellow and chartreuse on the most spectacular sky-blue ground. Unrestrained drawing, open spacing, and strong contrast give this piece a distinct feel. Wonderful tones and a little bit of electricity.
Very good for its age; wear to the field down to the foundation in one area. Several small repairs. Original selvedge and kilim ends. Curling at the bottom right
