This Bessarabian kilim features four bouquets plush cabbage roses in maroon, orange and soft pink on a deep brown, almost black field. It has a small inner frame of pairs of simpler flowers on a track with c scroll cornices. The proper outer border features a scrolling view with various leaves in bright oranges, slate and soft pinks on a camel ground.

19th Century Lavar Kerman features a central medallion with a curvilinear floral design and scalloped cornices. The field is a rich raspberry color, nicely contrasted by the lighter pinks and creams of the cornices. The minor borders are composed of vine and leaf motifs, while the main border contains alternating blossoms in diamonds and cartouches.

The kilim is borderless and broken into five horizontal sections separated by thin blue and tan stripes on a dramatic dark raspberry field. The top and bottom sections are composed of matching cartouche like devices in chartruese, tan and periwinkle.
