This very architectural composition features a border of stepped polygons surrounded with the a border that echoes the field by using waves of rhythmic intersecting blocks. This Tekke main rug was handwoven during the first quarter of the 20th century in Turkmenistan. The field features a grid rounded main guls in apricot, indigo, turquoise and ivory on vibrant red ground. The space between the grid is filled with rows of cruciform shaped secondary guls. In a rare square format that allows for very luxurious and open spacing of the guls.
