Antique Caucasian Kuba rug, handwoven during the first quarter of the 20th century.
The rug is composed of a geometric snowflake design arranged diagonally with a prayer niche top. The whole is framed by a diagonal striped main border in between carnation minor borders. The color palette includes bright red, deep blue, ivory, and brown, which has oxidized.
In threadbare condition, with signs of wear throughout, particularly in certain areas where the pile is worn down to the foundation. The foundation is still intact and the edges have been reinforced for longevity. Low pile, with an airy handle.
