The main border is composed of scrolling vine work on a soft crimson ground. The wear to the foundation adds a little edge to the ornate patterning.

This Lavar Kerman rug was handwoven during latte 19th century in Central Iran. This oversized rug features a central medallion with a curvilinear floral design and scalloped cornices. The cornices are distinct but have a continuous feel with the central medallion. The field features a vast array of blossoming flowers on patinated fuschia ground. Tones of yellow, golden wheat, chartreuse, coral and ivory round out the gentle and nuanced palette.
