"Tufted No. 3", 2019
Handtufted rug with a wide variety of colors, textures, and shapes within an irregularly shaped rectangle.
This piece combines a mixture of curvilinear shapes against blocks of graphic black and white stripes of varying sizes. Found at the top right of the piece is a striking circle with two heights of fringe protruding from the left side. Even with the multitude of colors found in this piece, there is a sense of balance within the abstracted forms.
All edges have been hand bound as well as the back is secured with latex and a backing fabric. Caroline's works are for use on the wall, not to be used as a floor covering. Hooks can be found on the back for easy hanging.
