The top of the field is crowned with a horseshoe-shaped mihrab denoting it was likely intended as a prayer rug. Small symbols can be seen surrounding the mihrab including small combs and blossoming flowers.

This Chi Chi prayer rug was woven in the Eastern Caucasus at the end of the 19th century. 

It features classic chi-chi patterning of staggered rows of hooked polygons in soft blues, yellows, greens, and reds on a deep navy field. The top of the field is crowned with a horseshoe-shaped Mihrab denoting it was likely intended as a prayer rug. Small symbols can be seen surrounding the Mihrab including small combs and blossoming flowers. Perfectly surrounded by three thick rosette borders with grounds of red, white, and blue grounds respectively from inner to outer.

In very good condition with some areas of visible repair, edges have been reinforced for longevity.
