This Shirvan rug features a classic soumak medallions in blue on a patinated brick field containing shape filled octagons, rosettes and various other protection symbols. Framed by a main border of sharply petalled rosettes that is flanked by minor borders of interlocking 'z's. </span>Classic soumak patterning rendered in pile weave is very rare.

This Karabagh runner was woven in the south Caucasus by Armenians during the late 19th century.  It features an all over herati design pattern in blues, greens, reds, pinks, yellow and ivory on a chocolate ground. The ground has oxidized adding dimensionality to the piece. Framed by a inner laleh abbasi border and three outer borders of scrolling rosettes on exceptional blue and yellow grounds.
