19th century Lavar Kerman composed of a curvilinear floral design that alternates between more large and prominent medallions and smaller more skeletal ones that blend into the background. The four large medallions are fully formed and dramatic. The design plays with positive and negative space in a sophisticated and subtle manner  The whole is framed by the main border of floral bouquets and six minor borders, composed of varied sprigs and meanders.

This Lavar Kerman was handwoven during the 19th century. 

This finely woven rug is composed of a curvilinear floral design that alternates between more large and prominent medallions and smaller more skeletal ones that blend into the background. The four large medallions are fully formed and dramatic. The design plays with positive and negative space in a sophisticated and subtle manner  The whole is framed by the main border of floral bouquets and six minor borders, composed of varied sprigs and meanders.

In good condition, signs of wear consistent with considerable age of the rug. The rug has one patch in the border (as pictured).
