This Gabbeh rug was handwoven in Southern Iran during the 21st century.
It features an abstracted village scene on a powerful, deep blue backdrop. Waves of red and yellow blocks of color are on the top and bottom of the rendering in a very distinctive and asymmetric manner almost mimicking a sunrise or sunset. Box like houses, vegetation and animals can be seen scattered throughout. It has been embellished with poofs of colorful handspun wool along the edges. The pile is densely woven, making this a plush rug.
The condition is excellent unused condition, with no signs of wear.
