This Karabagh runner was woven in the south Caucasus by Armenians during the late 19th century.  It features an all over herati design pattern in blues, greens, reds, pinks, yellow and ivory on a chocolate ground. The ground has oxidized adding dimensionality to the piece. Framed by a inner laleh abbasi border and three outer borders of scrolling rosettes on exceptional blue and yellow grounds.
