This Lori rug was handwoven during the late 19th century. 

This brightly colored rug features a classic repeating diamond pattern set in a diagonal. Note the classic candy-cane borders found in many rugs woven in the Zagros. The main border continues the diamond motif of the main design but in a straight line. Two little figures at the top on the left and right of the rug add a touch of whimsy.

Densely woven with a full pile, it has a heavy handle. In very good condition, signs of wear consistent with age. An exceptional piece, very collectible.
