Encapsulated by three borders including a fiery orange and brown inner border, a deep blue outer border, and a bright ivory central border which lends the perfect frame. Dramatic abrash along with an eclectic color palette and free-spirited drawing give this rug palpable movement.

This Antique Serab Runner features two striking medallions floating above lively latticework in ruby and sapphire which all pop against the rich camel ground. The latticework is contained within a cartouche on one side but the cartouche is incomplete on the other. Nicely finished with an inner border of polychrome rosettes on a cheerful ivory ground and an outer laleh abbasi border rendered in perfectly contrasting tones of navy and red.

Finished with three rows of selvedge and a thick strip of original kilim end which add strength and structure both visually and in actuality.

Abstracted figures and shapes which are likely the weaver and a rendition of bats or birds can be found near the center. A colorful main border of wide diagonal stripes more commonly found in Kurdish bag faces energizes the composition and adds additional distinction.
