This Kurdish rug was handwoven during the early 20th century in Northwest Iran.  It features a soft red central medallion floating atop an open midnight blue field. A variation of the herati design can be found in both the medallion and the coral cornices. The meandering palmette border sits on a camel ground and is framed by two thin blue minor borders.

This Kurdish rug was handwoven during the early 20th century.

It features a soft red central medallion floating atop an open midnight blue field. A variation of the Herati design can be found in both the medallion and the coral cornices. The meandering palmette border sits on a camel ground and is framed by two thin blue minor borders. Nicely worn in while still being structurally sound.

In good condition with even wear to the foundation throughout missing minor end borders on two sides. All four sides have been reinforced for longevity. The pile is low and dense with a floppy handle.
