Antique NW Persian Shahsavan Khorjin fragment featuring a lovely field of wonky diagonal lines in various soft and patinated tones of red, pink, blue, green, and yellow.  Framed by multiple small borders that include repeating rosettes, a classical meandering vine, and most interestingly a border of matching diagonals. Woven completely of hearty undyed brown wool which makes its presence known in the worn areas as well the coarse fringes.

This soumak was handwoven by the Shahsavan during the late 19th century.

It features a lovely field of wonky diagonal lines in various soft and patinated tones of red, pink, blue, green, and yellow.  Framed by multiple small borders that include repeating rosettes, a classical meandering vine, and most interestingly a border of matching diagonals. Woven completely of hearty undyed brown wool which makes its presence known in the worn areas as well the coarse fringes. A great wall or learning piece!

In good worn condition, with wear to the face and the ends.
