This striking yellow Suzani was embroidered during the third quarter of the 20th century (1950-1975) in Uzbekistan.
It features a central mandala with a multilayered arrangement of flowers in blue, white, and bright pink framed by a large outer border of scrolling green vines with flowers in burgundy, pink and white. With very limited negative space this piece exuberant and full of life.
In good condition with a few tiny holes, fabric curling along the border, and a small area with color run (as pictured). Drawn markings in pen are visible.
