This Nakshi Kantha was crafted in Bengal during the early 20th century.

Kantha is a Bengali folk tradition of embroidering textiles using recycled cloth. This Kantha features a scene from a traditional wedding ceremony of the bride with the grooms family. The participants, all female, are dressed in different celebratory attire. It is embellished with rosettes and two Boteh which are referred to as kalka or mango in the Bengali context. It is embroidered in yellow, red and blue with a simple border on recycled cotton cloth. 

In very good condition for it's age with some light wear to threads.
