This termeh is a fragment a shawl handmade in Kerman during the 19th century.
It features a rainbow of stripes in red, pink, blue, red, orange, yellow, green, purple, ivory and black. The stripes are filled with leaves or botehs in contrasting tones. This is a fragment from a larger shawl that was most likely made and used to commemorate Muharram.
