This Saryk turkmen aestetics was woven in Turkmenistan during the late 19th century.

It features a repeat field of octagonal main guls and cruciform minor guls on a richly colored  plum ground. The back showcases Tekke sensibility, with tightly packed asymmetric knots, high warp depression, and deeply toned red wefting—all hallmarks of classic 19th-century Tekke craftsmanship. The borders are dense and harmonious, filled with geometric detailing and anchored by elegant guards.

This Tekke main rug was handwoven during the first quarter of the 20th century in Turkmenistan.

The field features a grid rounded main guls in apricot, indigo, turquoise and ivory on vibrant red ground. The space between the grid is filled with rows of cruciform shaped secondary guls. In a rare square format that allows for very luxurious and open spacing of the guls.

This Tekke Turkmen rug was handwoven during the second quarter of the 20th century in Turkmenistan.

The field features a grid of rounded main guls in various shades of brown, tan, bone and wheat on faded copper tone ground. The space between the grid is filled with rows of cruciform shaped secondary guls. It is encapsulated by a border of rams head filled octagons and finished with skirts of latch-hooked zigzags.

This lovely chapan is crafted from crimson striped silk. It is embellished with fine black, white, and yellow embroidery around its perimeter and up the sides. The embroidery is well executed more ornate than is standard for this type. There are three lovely floral forms on the bottom right and left of the jacket that also set it apart. A blue printed liner adds another element of interest.

This lovely chapan is crafted from green wool. It is embroidered with an array of tones including black, red, white, orange and purple around its perimeter and up the sides. These trouser cuffs were handmade in Turkmenistan during the 20th Century.   Turkmen women traditionally wear colorful ankle length dresses with baggy trousers in contrasting color and decorated bands. These trousers feature wonderful detailed embroidery bands near the ankles in blue, red, green and ivory on a magenta cloth.

 A chyrpy is a long robe of embroidered silk that Tekke women wear over the head and shoulders with false, decorative sleeves. These are ceremonial garments to be worn on special occasions.  This chyrpy features abstracted floral forms stitched in yellow, ivory aubergine and red silk on black ground. It is lined with cotton that is blockprinted with boteh and scrolling leaves.

This Ersari Turkmen rug was woven during the first quarter of the 20th century in Northern Afghanistan.  It features a traditional Ersari gül design with a soft palette of turqoise and indigo on a soft and faded brick red ground with accents of natural undyed brown and ivory wool. More skeletal and interconnected secondary gülsfill in the space between the main guls.

Beshir Turkmen rug handwoven along the Amu Darya river in Central Asia.  It features one large central medallion and four smaller medallions on the top and bottom of this wide and narrow format which is common for type. The medallions sit at an all over design of an abstracted herati variation with wide leaves, rounded rosettes and arrow like forms. various borders of tulips, evil eyes and eight pointed rosettes.
