These trouser cuffs were handmade in Turkmenistan during the 20th Century.   Turkmen women traditionally wear colorful ankle length dresses with baggy trousers in contrasting color and decorated bands. These trousers feature wonderful detailed embroidery bands near the ankles in blue, red, orange, green and ivory on a striped magenta cloth. The backing floral print cloth is visible.
