This Suzani was handmade during the early 20th century in Uzbekistan.

This suzani is composed of central floral motif embroidered in silk on an open red cotton field. Flanked by vibrant multi-tiered blossoming flowers to the right and left and framed by a lively floral meander. A multitude of colors are used for the embroidery, including turqoise, green, white, yellow, and purple.

Four smaller medallions in yellow and green are in each corner of the piece and the whole is framed by a border. The handmade quality of this textile is apparent in the asymmetrical nature of the embroidery giving the medallions movement and distinct personality.
