Vintage Mola cloth handmade by the Guna (previously spelled Kuna) people of the San Blas Islands.  Mola is a reverse appliqué technique, similar to the technique used in quilting but using multiple layers of different-colored cloth that are first sewn together before a design is created by cutting away different layers. These cloths are traditionally made in pairs to be worn on the front and back of women's blouses.  This Mola features a rooster.

This Bokhara was woven in Pakistan during the 1980s.  With an uncommon design for Bokhara rugs it for Bokhara features a classic Ensi design and a lovely skirt border on one end all on a desirable and uncommon black ground. Ensi rugs were woven by Turkmen tribes and traditionally used as a door cover or entrance to a yurt. Their is a belief among seasoned Turkmen collectors that the intention of this pattern was to represent a door or window to the afterlife.

It features a directional camel ground mihrab atop an open chocolate ground. The center of the mihrab features a square in the same chocolate ground filled with an eight pointed star. The star sparkles in a very prominent highlighter yellow. Framed by a simple scrolling cream border with groupings of small red berries and a couple pops of yellow. KARS

Boucherouite rugs are made using recycled fabrics, giving them their distinctive multicolor and shaggy pile. This funky rug features yarn that has been unspun and re-spun together mixing different tones in each strand. The yarn has been patterned into color blocks creating a nice striation. This rug is very whimsical and appealing, perfect for a space in need of texture.

Batik is a wax-resist technique that creates a distinctive style. This textile features a variety of batik designs that have been patchworked together into four quadrants creating a dynamic design in purples and yellows.

It features hand cut mirrors that have been hand-stitched with silk thread into grid and diamond patterns  on cotton cloth dyed with a dusty lilac. The mirrors really sparkle in the right light.

This Boucherouite rug was handwoven in Morocco during the end of the 20th century.   Boucherouite rugs are made using recycled fabrics, giving them their distinctive multicolor and shaggy pile. This funky rug features a diamond checkerboard pattern in black, ivory, red and turquoise.  The lovely free flowing nature is accentuated by the changing proportions of the diamonds and uneven use of the vibrant tones (especially the turquoise!)
