This fragment was woven in central Anatolia during the 18th century.
In two fragments that have been reunited and mounted together. This piece captures moments of the field, the main border and, the skirt lappets. All of the components are necessary to envision how the piece would appear in its original glory. The wonderful and stunning tones have survived over 200 years and still feel electric. It features the characteristic yellows, purples, and blues characteristic of central Anatolia not to mention a great red and highly desirable green! There is a crocheted repair to fill a hole in the top piece that maintains the fragments's integrity without interrupting it's aesthetic impact. A great study piece with visual power.
The remaining two fragments are in very good condition and have been professionally mounted.
