Wool Baluch rug, handwoven during the early 20th century in Western Afghanistan.
Madder red and aubergine play nicely with soothing camel and oxidized browns, while a pop of indigo shines dead center and makes another appearance in the intact kilim edge. Both the warp and weft are constructed out of handspun wool.
In fair condition, with worn and oxidized areas throughout. One minor edge border is missing as pictured.
