A finely woven Chi-Chi rug from the northeastern Caucasus, packed with the dense, jewel-like drawing for which the group is prized. The dark chocolate-brown field is organized in horizontal bands of stepped geometric medallions alternating with tightly worked floral and abstract devices in saturated cobalt blue, brick red, ivory, soft green, and apricot.

The rug is framed by a bold Kufic border, its strongly angular, calligraphic forms creating an architectural frame around the densely patterned field. A vivid blue guard of small star-like blossoms adds another layer of color and definition, while narrower reciprocal bands complete the elaborate border system.
