This finely balanced Kula features a classic abstracted flowering-vase design set on a rich chocolate ground, framed by icy blue cornices and a strong indigo border of meandering vines.
The palette is vibrant but also gently mellowed through age and use, while drawing is confident without feeling rigid. Motifs appear hand-placed rather than mechanical, giving the rug a quiet rhythm and warmth that rewards close looking. The wool has worn evenly, creating a supple surface with a subtle sheen, while the colors have settled harmoniously.
