Antique Navajo rug, handwoven in the Southwest USA, during the first quarter of the 20th century.
This striking rug features jagged concentric lines vibrating from a small central diamond. The sharp angles and mottled tones of gray, brown, and red give the lines a dimensionality and they appear to float on the stark white field. The whole is outlined in a thin black and brown wool border.
In very good condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Flatwoven, with a light handle.
