This soumak rug was woven in the caucasus during the fourth quarter of the 19th century. It features the classic three medallion design in dark and light blues with variety of faded rust oranges and oxidized browns. The rug is very worn in due to age and oxidization of the brown dyes, with the pile worn through to the foundation in some areas. But it has been reinforced in some areas for longevity and their are no holes.
