This hooked rug was handcrafted in New England during the early century.
It features a depiction of what appears to be a wolf howling at the sun in its central cartouche. This central is encapsulated by blocks of various colors in an array of shapes pieced together in a lovely mosaic. The fading has made it difficult to differentiate the ground from the sky in the central cartouche.
In good condition for its considerable, some light color fading and some loose threads along the perimeter.
