Yoruba Beaded Sash - 4.5" x 3'6

Regular price $475.00 Sale

A striking Yoruba beaded sash from Nigeria, densely worked with glass beads in bold red, blue, green, yellow, white, and black. The long narrow form is divided into geometric panels with diagonal bands, diamond motifs, and a dramatic raised mask-like face at one end.

Near the upper section is another raised motif of paired beings, their interlocking forms giving the piece a sculptural and talismanic quality. The mask-like head, with exposed teeth and strong linear detailing, adds to the sash’s powerful figurative presence.

Yoruba beadwork is closely associated with status, ritual authority, and ceremonial display. The reverse is backed with layered cloth and stitched panels, showing visible age and use.

A visually compelling piece with strong graphic impact, rich surface texture, and excellent decorative presence.
