Mehraban rug handwoven in Northest Iran during the second quarter of the 20th century.
The design of this rug is grounded on an inky-blue field, which contrasts beautifully with the bubblegum pink of the flowers. The central medallion expands into four rose blossoms in the corner. The motifs are outlined in white, which lifts up the design. The border is a funky floral meander, on a pink field.
In excellent condition, with no signs of wear. Pile is thick and fuzzy, with a heavy but malleable handle. Very well-suited to high traffic areas.
