This Chinese Peking rug was handwoven during the first quarter of the twentieth century. Features a beautiful pictorial scene feature a pagoda upon a pond of flowers lotuses. It is a night scene with the moon and clouds visible behind lantern hanging on the branch of a cherry blossom. It is woven in a non traditional oval shape with a stunning deep blue indigo ground. Wear is consistent with age.
