This rug was woven in Northern Afghanistan during the 21st century.
It features a tiger pelt pattern associated with Tibetan weaving culture. The ferocious-looking tiger pops against the black ground and is unencumbered by borders. The tiger represents strength and determination in Tibetan Buddhism.
In excellent condition. It has a heavy handle with a soft and velvety pile from local Afghan wool.
