This Moroccan-styled rug was woven during the 21st century in Afghanistan.
It features thinly drawn organic lines in light blue that fade in and out and occasionally connect in a grid-like manner on a field of variegated undyed wool in natural tones of ivory, gray, and brown. Broader blue brush strokes can be seen near the bottom throwing the asymmetric composition perfectly off balance. Woven of hearty, hand-spun Afghan wool giving it durability and extra heft not commonly found in the Moroccan weaving usually associated with this patterning. The rug is finished with a kilim skirt ends in undyed wool.
In excellent condition, with no signs of wear. Pile is thick, with a soft handle.
