This Baluch rug was handwoven during the first quarter of the 20th century near the border of Iran and Afghanistan.
It features a camel ground and a geometric trellis motif. Each hexagon contains a tree shape in various colors, ranging from indigo to red, to green. The multicolor diagonal border has sharp pops of white lending the whole some electricity.
In very good condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Some fraying on the corners (as pictured). Low pile, with a loose handle. Original kilim ends still intact.
