This Peking rug was handwoven in Eastern China during the first quarter of the 20th century.
This soft rug features a deep chocolate field with an indigo blue border. A central vase motif is framed scrolling blossoming lotuses in the corners of the field. The main border contains an elegant floral motif that blends in seamlessly.
In good condition, with some wear in the middle where pile has worn through to the foundation. No holes, foundation still intact. Pile is low, with a sturdy handle.
