This Baluch rug was woven in the third quarter of the 20th century in Afghanistan.
It features a simple palette of browns, dark reds, navy and burnt orange. It has an assymetic grid pattern featuring rows of squares with geometric devices. Curiously in one row where the squares are expected, instead memling guls are found adding strength and distinction to the piece.
The pile is densely woven. In very good condition with some wear to the fringes
