This rug was woven in Turkey during the end of the 20th century.
It features a fun and unusual pattern that alternated between men in striped uniforms and a vase-like motif upon an uncommon variegated green ground. The uniforms of the top six figures are rendered in red and black diagonal stripes whereas the bottom three are rendered in turquoise and black. Various plants grow in the open space throughout the field. The main border is composed of polychrome rosettes and multiple minor borders showcase diagonal stripes that coordinate well with the diagonal stripes on the uniform of each figure.
The rug is in very good condition, with little signs of wear. Its pile is medium height with a meaty but light handle.
