This Rolakan kilim was handwoven in Sweden during the middle of the 20th century.

It features an abstract design with a central motif. The design is likely an abstraction of a blossoming flower but much like a Rorschach is reminiscent of many things including a gas burner on a stovetop for example. The simple palette of low-contrast grays, blues, and ivories uses nuance to create a gentle depth and interest. The letter "S" for textile can be found in the bottom right corner.

In very good condition for its age. Wefted with wool over a linen warp. Flat pile with a hefty handle.
