This funky mid-century Swedish shag rug features a dynamic explosion design in purples, blues, pinks, and grays. This particular rug was designed by Ingrid Jagarz, for the Marks Rya company, which was based out of Goteborg, Sweden and most active during the 1960s and 70s.
Swedish rugs are highly collectible and were woven with yarn instead of unspun wool, which gives them a distinct look. They could be made at home with regular crafting materials, and rya making kits were very popular during the crafting boom of the 1970s.
